The Attorney

Denise Y. Aubry is a very committed family law attorney. After 12 years of owning a successful paralegal firm providing invaluable document preparation services to clients needing help in areas such as Divorce, Parentage, Child Custody, and Support, Denise earned her law degree and embarked on her family law practice.

"It’s still surreal that after 12 years of owning a successful paralegal business helping individuals navigate the court system, I am now able to represent clients in making decisions that will affect their entire lives."

"For me, dividing assets, debts, businesses, pets, essentially every inanimate aspect of a client’s life pales in importance to structuring a good parenting plan when children are involved. I find that drawing from my own experience with divorce keeps me grounded such that I recognize the pain, anguish and fear associated with facing a new kind of normal. At the same time I appreciate the value in making this process more than just tolerable, I strive to achieve happiness with my clients. Clients who can separate the negative from the practical usually have the best outcomes. I help them get there."

"I value people and my reputation is such that my clients feel they’re in capable and caring hands. I am very straight-forward about potential outcomes and certain realities that come with divorce. There’s no time, or money, to sugarcoat and it would be contrary to my nature."

As a paralegal working with family law pro per litigants, I’d often feel a sense of abandonment because I couldn’t see their case through to the end.

"Today, I know that I will never abandon a client, in or out of court."

PRO BONO PHILOSOPHY

Making the most of my law degree means giving back. I know that without my family, mentors and support system I wouldn’t be where I am. I have been given much therefore I owe much. I make every effort to volunteer whether it is helping out with Thanksgiving day food drives or providing much needed legal service at the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, The Thomas Meserau Legal Clinic, or Honest Lawyers. Service to the community is s Meserau or Honest Lawyers free legal clinics, I believe in service to the community.

Legal Assistant

Iyesha Sands  is a proud mother of 6!  She loves sports and was a collegiate volleyball athlete. She still enjoys basketball and traveling but these days she spends most of her time between being a STAR legal assistant and raising her children. She's intuitively sensitive to the needs of others, especially families with children and we love having her as part of the team!!
